The New Bingley Angling Club Website
This is a site refresh for Bingley Angling Club – an old established fishing club based in Bingley, West Yorkshire.
The previous site suffered from lack of content and a bland design. The idea was to create a visually rich site to engage its 500+ members with current club news and match results etc.
WordPress was decided as the best candidate for the Content Management System (CMS) – it’s ease of use for members and club officials to be able to post informative information on the site with minimal understanding of creating websites.
The site makes use of some great features such as the inclusion of a Google Map for the precise locations of each water – including the water length limits. The facility for members to be able to get directions to each water was also included in the site.

The Refresh involved creating a visually appealing site template that would reflect the nature of the club more accurately than before.
The use of a fully featured website for the club means that they can include more information than would be possible in the yearbooks sold by the club – as well as the ability for club members to submit their own pictures for inclusion on the sites Gallery area.

Advanced SEO (Search Engine Optimization) extensions (or plugins) were used on the site to increase the sites web traffic and make it more visible on the search engines.
Response to the new site from the members has been a great boost for the club, and the new site is increasing membership sales by the week.
The next stage in this project is to create a website forum so members can share their thoughts and fishing tales with each other – this will be live on the site in the next few weeks.
