Valley epitomize crisp, clear Blu-Ray

Valley recently won a four-way international pitch to design a point of purchase unit for Sony Pictures Europe on their latest Blu-ray launch. The brief was to design a unit that demonstrated the quality of Blu-ray, whilst at the same time showcased the films available.

James Haggas, MD of Valley commented: “Valley won the pitch because we could offer the best in design quality and originality, all within the budget. The merchandising unit was designed to achieve pan-European distribution and combine various selling elements into one unit. The combined sales potential of the complete system was designed to create more opportunity for the brand, whilst gaining a greater footprint in store.

“The unit was really unique and featured lots of lighting and modern materials to add to the overall quality look and feel. To prepare for production of the unit we carried out extensive customer profiling and market research in various electrical retailers. We have vast experience in this market so we tend to lead, but wanted to ensure we were totally up to speed with the competition in the marketplace.

“The unit stood apart from the competition in-store because it not only looked great, but also effectively communicated what the product could do, as well as displaying the vast choice of films available.

“We had some extremely positive feedback from both Sony and directly from the consumer during our mystery shopper sessions. The results were so well received that we will be working with Sony again later in the year.”
